TLC has set a date for their upcoming series Welcome to Myrtle Manor, a reality show that followings the happenings inside a mobile home community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The network announced today that they've set a date for the series, which will premiere Sunday, March 3.
Set in the place formerly known as Patrick's Mobile Home, Welcome to Myrtle Manor will follow the trailer park landlord and various residents of "Myrtle Manor," as they go about their lives and enjoy what their trailer park and the Myrtle Beach backdrop have to offer. The trailer park has been passed down from generation to generation, with the current landlord Becky attempting to turn the place into a 5-star resort, which - according to TLC - explains the recent name change and some of the improvements to the property, including a new hair salon and an above ground swimming pool.
TLC released a list of the "characters" in this series, which give us a little bit of information about them.
Honestly, given the questions raised about the "reality" of one of TLC's recent series (Breaking Amish), I'm approaching my enthusiasm for this new show with a bit more caution. With that in mind, I'll admit, I've found motor homes to be fascinating establishments since the seeing The Last Starfighter as a kid. I highly doubt there are aliens or intergalactic wars featured in Welcome to Myrtle Manor, but getting a peek inside the daily life of a motor home community does have my curiosity piqued.
The series will consisted of ten sixty-minute episodes, the first of which will air Sunday, March 3 at 10:00 p.m.
