White Collar's Matt Bomer To Guest Star In The New Normal

White Collar’s Matt Bomer has been known to take a guest stint or two in the past. Soon, the snarky actor will be headed to NBC’s freshman comedy The New Normal to play a potentially trouble-causing role. Bomer should be heading to the series to play a former love flame, and usually former love flames don’t pop up unless there is a bad or awkward reason (although, who knows, maybe the comedy will break the mold).

On Wednesday, The New Normal creator Ryan Murphy headed to Twitter to dish on whom the handsome Bomer would have a past connection with. The answer, according to the fairly vague Tweet, is Andrew Rannell’s character, Bryan. We don’t know much about the character he’ll be playing, but at least we know he will be sexy.

“Guess who's coming on The New Normal as Bryan's sexy ex-boyfriend? The one and only Matt Bomer!!!”

Bomer’s appearance on The New Normal totally makes sense, since the 34-year-old had a guest stint in an episode of Glee last year as the flashy Cooper Anderson. Murphy obviously liked the performance and is now in talks with the actor to join, although TV Line is reporting the deal has not been 100% finalized, yet. The Glee role caused some problems for a brother-brother relationship, and I’m hoping Bomer’s appearance will not come between Bryan and David’s relationship. They are totally in the throws of baby-readying and I wouldn’t want anything to interfere with that.

You can catch new episodes of NBC’s The New Normal on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET.
