Who Is Returning For Next Week's Sad Arrow Episode
Warning: spoilers for last week's episode of Arrow below.
It seems that Arrow fans have finally figured out which member of Team Arrow perishes in the battle against Damien Darhk. Just when it seemed as though Laurel Lance had finally begun to shine as the Black Canary, the wicked leader of H.I.V.E ran her through with one of Green Arrow’s green arrows. Next week’s episode of Arrow, titled “Canary Cry,” will undoubtedly be a somber affair, and will bring two members of the show’s ensemble back to mourn Laurel’s passing: Dinah Lance and Nyssa al Ghul.
The CW has just revealed new photos from the upcoming episode of Arrow, which shed light on the proceedings of next week’s episode. It’s abundantly clear that nobody in Star City will simply shrug off the death of Assistant District Attorney Laurel Lance. Her death has rattled the core members of Team Arrow, but the images released of her funeral also show that Laurel’s mother, Dinah will make an appearance. With Laurel's parents mutually devestated by the death of their daughter, it will undoubtedly prove interesting to see how Quentin and Dinah come together, as well as what that may do to Quentin's relationship with Donna Smoak.
Additionally, the photos also show former Heir to the Demon, Nyssa al Ghul, in attendance of the funeral. This isn’t exactly surprising when we consider the bond that had formed between Nyssa and Laurel over the course of the last two seasons. Based upon the strong sisterly relationship between these two female warriors, it seems likely that Nyssa may stick around to fill Laurel’s void and help Team Arrow take on Darhk, Merlyn and the rest of H.I.V.E.
As if all of that doesn’t sound somber enough, The CW has also released a synopsis for “Canary Cry,” which seems to indicate that none of the good guys in Star City will easily cope with this loss:
We can’t exactly blame Quentin Lance for not believing his daughter has actually died. With the amount of resurrections that have taken place in his family, he has likely become accustomed to the idea of simply waiting to see one of his dead daughters again. As much as we have grown to love Laurel recently, we sort-of hope she doesn’t return. Just about every core member of the cast has experienced a revival at some point during this series, and it’s time for Arrow to establish some level of permanence to its deaths.
What do you think of the way Arrow handled Laurel’s death? How do you think Team Arrow will handle the loss of one of its own? Are you excited to see Dinah and Nyssa return to Star City? Let us know what you think in the comments!
