‘This Show Was Built On That.’ The Voice’s Snoop Dogg Sent A Strong Message As The Season 26 Finalists Were Revealed, And I Was Shocked By The Results
Next week's finale is going to be wild.
“Gladiator II” is on its way and boasts a stellar cast that includes Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen, and Fred Hechinger. Watch CinemaBlend’s Jeff McCobb sit down with the cast, as well as director Ridley Scott, to discuss such things as their primate costar, the deleted scenes that will be in the director’s cut, the lost take of Paul Mescal kissing Pedro Pascal, and much, much more.
The cast of "Gladiator II" is absolutely stacked for obvious reasons. It sees the return of Connie Nielsen and a performance by Denzel Washington that folks are saying may have secured his third Oscar. But in what is perhaps a coincidental turn of events, the film also features the internet’s biggest heartthrobs Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal, and the now-infamous lost take of the former kissing the latter on the forehead looks like it’s coming to VOD. I recently spoke with the film's star and director in anticipation of "Gladiator II's" release, and to catch all of you up, Paul Mescal retold the humorous story of director Ridley Scott’s reaction to the improvised forehead kiss.
Anna Kendrick joins the cast of her directorial debut, "Woman of the Hour" to discuss adapting the harrowing true story of a serial killer who appeared on "The Dating Game" in the 1970s. Watch as Daniel Zovatto, Tony Hale, Nicolette Robinson, Autumn Best, Kathryn Gallagher, and the director/star dive into the dating show's disturbing nature and bringing a monster like Rodney Alcala to life while telling his victim's truths.
The most-recent live-action "Spider-Man" film, "Spider-Man: No Way Home," remains a miracle for so many reasons. It gave closure to Tom Holland’s MCU Spidey trilogy, then used its ending to set him off on a new path. It allowed Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to return to the franchise they helped to establish and grow, and even gave Garfield closure on one of the most emotional moments from any of the Spider-Man movies. For these and other reasons, I rank "Spider-Man: No Way Home" as one of the best live-action Spidey movies, and why it’ll always have a special place in my heart. This scene, in particular, made me gasp as I sat in my seat on opening night. Zendaya’s character, Michelle, is thrown from the scaffolding of the Statue of Liberty. Tom Holland’s Spidey dives to save her, but is intercepted by the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe). Immediately. Garfield’s Peter Parker springs into action, and succeeds in a way that he previously failed. He catches MJ… and remembers how he dropped his own love, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) back in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." The look on Andrew’s face when Zendaya asks if he’s OK shatters my soul. Because I know that deep down, he’s not OK. But that rescue makes him a little bit better.
