Alvin And The Chipmunks Hit Stores April First
Like it or not, but the live action Alvin and the Chipmunks has arrived. Not only that, but the movie actually got some positive feedback in theaters, encouraging the producers to spawn a sequel as soon as they can get some writers to handle a script. Now last year’s surprise hit is coming to DVD on April 1st.
No, this isn’t some April Fools gag, although I suppose it could be, but we already know the movie exists, so what’s to prank? You certainly wouldn’t want to joke about a two-disc special edition that includes a digital download copy of the movie for use on your iPod or laptop computer, as well as two remixed soundtrack iTunes downloads. There’s no punch line in stating the movie will also be available on Blu-ray as well, as Fox’s high definition offering, although the fact that the press release includes less bonus material on the high definition version hopefully is an attempt to make people laugh, and more features will be announced later.
In fact, the only real possibility of a joke here is that a single disc option is being released as well that won’t contain much in the way of bonus material, for those people who don’t really want all the special things DVD typically offers.
Take a look at the other material that will be on the two-disc special edition and Blu-ray versions of Alvin and the Chipmunks, hitting stores on April 1st.
