Animated Chipmunk Adventures Compete With Live Action Movie
Alvin and the Chipmunks comes to DVD tomorrow, April 1st. The reviews for the live action flick were surprisingly positive, so you might want to check it out. If you’d rather see Alvin, Simon, and Theodore in their original forms, however, Paramount is cashing in with new releases of the animated adventures coming out on the same date.
On April 1st, on top of the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie, you can pick up a new special edition of The Chipmunk Adventure that includes a musical CD with eleven Chipmunk tracks, including “Wooly Bully” and “My Mother.” Also available is Alvin and the Chipmunks Go To the Movies: Funny, We Shrunk the Adults which includes three episodes of the animated series, with spoofs of Back to the Future, Big, and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.
I can’t say either of these animated movies will motivate me to make a trip to the DVD store. Frankly, a less obvious cash in, like a season of the animated series, may have been a better idea, but you have to give Paramount some credit for trying. Check out the artwork for the two releases below:
