IGN is reporting news we all knew was inevitable: Star Wars is coming to Blu-ray. The word came over the weekend at the Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo, where Lucasfilm Director of Fan Relations Steve Sansweet told fans that a Blu-ray set of all six movies has been in the works for several years. He didn't announce any specific dates or timeframes, but he told the crowd that "it won't be in the too distant future."
With this being a very early announcement, Sansweet didn't have any details as to specs. He did, however, suggest that the set will be packed with extras and will contain material that has never been seen before.
Great news for Blu-ray fans, obviously, but it ignores the most important issue: when will we get a Blu-ray version of the Holiday Special?
