Blu-ray Gets Election
I mentioned the Matthew Broderick / Reese Witherspoon dark comedy Election as part of my special Election Day double feature. The comedy is far too frequently overlooked and written off, but it’s definitely one that I enjoy.
It’s not in time for this year’s election, but now the comedy is headed for Blu-ray, with a January 20th release. The high-definition format isn’t bringing much more than a clear picture, with only a commentary track announced as an extra on the disc. Since that’s already been released with the DVD, I’m not seeing a lot of incentive to pick this up on the high-def format.
Still, if you’ve missed Election in the past, it’s a comedy worth checking out. And, if you’re trying to build up your Blu-ray library, here’s your chance to pick it up in just under a month. Heck, watch it during Obama’s inauguration if you’re one of the many who won’t be able to make it to Washington.
