Britain Unleashes The Plague on DVD
When I got the press release for The Plague I honestly thought I was looking at the announcement of yet another low budget horror film. I couldn’t have been more wrong – instead it’s a low budget British drama.
As described by the filmmakers, The Plague is a film about a world where hate breeds hate. It’s a film that follows four multi-cultural friends over the course of a weekend of life in urban culture including the good and the bad: parties, drugs and violence. The film also features appearances by and includes music by several of London’s underground music scene including Skinnyman and DJ Flip.
I’m a little more excited about this story than the original misconception I had, although I’m always a little wary about movies that boast how low budget they worked. I guess British viewers will see just how much the creators of The Plague accomplished when the DVD comes out February 19th, although we have no word on whether an American release is also planned.
