Broken Lizard's Slammin' Salmon Cooks Up An April Blu-Ray And DVD Release
Broken Lizard's latest, the restaurant comedy The Slammin' Salmon, came and went in limited release this past December, but there's a good chance you didn't know that. While you might not have even realized the movie exists, CB head honcho Josh Tyler described it as "the best work Broken Lizard has ever done" when he reviewed it at last year's SXSW. We'll all get a chance to judge for ourselves when the flick hits Blu-ray and DVD April 13th.
From the folks who brought you Super Troopers and Beerfest, The Slammin' Salmon stars the usual Broken Lizard crowd alongside Michael Clarke Duncan, Will Forte, Cobie Smulders, and Olivia Munn in the story of a Miami restaurant run by a former heavyweight boxing champ (Duncan) who owes money to the Japanese mob. To raise money quick, the owner creates a contest for his waiters to sell more food than ever before: the winner gets ten grand; the loser gets his ass kicked.
Both the Blu-ray and DVD will include two commentaries -- one with writer/director Kevin Heffernan and writer/actor Steve Lemme and one with the Broken Lizard troupe -- and the featurette "Hellish Kitchens: Art Imitates Restaurant Life." You can check out the DVD trailer and some stills below.
