Butterfly Effect 2 Relegated To DVD
Wow, not sure how I missed this. Remember the sequel to The Butterfly Effect that was supposed to be in the works? Wonder why we haven't heard anything about it in awhile? There's a reason. It's skipping theaters and going directly to DVD.
Apparently New Line agrees with us that there's no reason to make another one even if the first one was kind of good and mostly well received. They're shoving it out with a low-profile bottom shelf video release that might make them just enough money to recoup it's meager production costs.
The sequel of course, doesn't star any of the previous cast and instead brings in a bunch of scrub actors to take over in a new story loosely, sort of based on the same ideas. Nick Larson and Erica Durance star in the story of a guy turning back the clock to save his girlfriend and his buddies from a deadly car crash. Frankly, I think Kutcher's reasons in the first one were far more interesting.
R But just in case you're hyper to check out the Butterfly Effect sequel, we've got the details on this direct to DVD release:
• Audio commentary from director John Leonetti• Behind-the-scenes featurette• 16x9 widescreen (2.35:1) presentation of the film• Dolby Digital 5.1 EX, Stereo Surround 2.0• English & Spanish subtitles• Closed captioned• Animated menus |
