DVD Blend Asks When Do We Eat?

Each week DVDs come out. Some of them are worth your time and money and some aren't. Some of them are movies I've seen, and some of them aren’t. Regardless, I give you my opinion on the big releases of the week. Cinema Blend Pick of the Week:
When Do We Eat?One of the interesting things about the subjective nature of film is how two critics can be at totally opposite ends of the spectrum. Take my pick for this week’s DVD releases. The Cinema Blend review for the theatrical release gave the movie a single star and berated the film for being an overly clichéd family comedy. I, on the other hand, felt this was one of the most heartwarming family comedies to come out in recent years, and loved that we finally get a break from the typical Christmas Holiday movie and move on to some other holiday. Which one of us is right? Check out the film and decide for yourself. While you’re at it, check out our interviews with When Do We Eat? cast members Shiri Applebee and Leslie Ann Warren in our April 5th Weekly Blend podcast.Click to puchase When Do We Eat?

Worth mentioning:
Row 1 - Cell 0 Double Indemnity - They don’t make mystery movies like they used to, and here’s another one of those classics that prove it. Fred MacMurray, Edward G. Robinson and Barbara Stanwyck star in a story of insurance fraud, murder, and double crosses. Definitely a classic worth seeing.Row 1 - Cell 2 This Island Earth - Speaking of classics worth seeing, here’s another one. While the early days of film produced many “B” science fiction films, only a handful are actually worth seeing. This is one of them. The Metaluna aliens and the story are sci-fi icons too few people are familiar with.
Row 2 - Cell 0
Row 3 - Cell 0 The Wizard - If classic movies aren’t your thing, perhaps you’d prefer some classic ‘80s kitsch. A young Fred Savage stars in this flick about brothers traveling to a video game competition back when Super Mario Brothers 3 was brand new. For more ‘80s enjoyment, Beau Bridges and Christian Slater co-star.Row 3 - Cell 2 Radioland Murders - I find it a bit interesting this finally comes to DVD the same year we get a movie about Prarie Home Companion. While this movie also takes place during the making of a live radio broadcast, murder is in the air, as are a handful of character actors you’ll recognize, but probably not remember the names of.
