The DVD Blend Loves The Muppet Show
Each week DVDs come out. Some of them are worth your time and money and some aren't. Some of them are movies I've seen, and some of them aren’t. Regardless, I give you my opinion on the big releases of the week. If the releases sound like something you want to buy, just click the link to go to Amazon.com and you’ll support Cinema Blend with a few pennies. Take it or leave it, here's the DVD Blend.
Cinema Blend Pick of the Week:
The Muppet Show: Season Two
It feels like it’s been eons since the last Muppet DVD set came out, but all that waiting will quickly fade away as you disappear into episodes featuring Bob Hope, Don Knotts, Steve Martin, and more. The show takes a more familiar form in Season Two as it becomes the Muppet Show fans would come to know, love, and remember. Included in the set is the ultra-rare “Muppets Valentine Special” and Weezer’s music video for “Keep Fishin’” which recreated the feeling of the Muppet Show, along with appearances by Kermit and the rest of the gang. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll be left wanting more, hoping the wait for season three isn’t nearly as long.

Worth mentioning: | |||
Row 1 - Cell 0 | TMNT - The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles return to a feature length movie in this computer animated flick. As always, the four brothers have trouble seeing eye to eye, with leader Leonardo off training to improve himself while Raphael dabbles in vigilante justice. Still, the foursome have to learn to put differences aside in order to defeat the bad guys and save the day. | Row 1 - Cell 2 | Disturbia - Shia LaBeouf stretches himself as an actor, but can only stretch so far in this thriller that doesn’t quite thrill. The concept is sound (after all, it worked for Hitchcock in Rear Window) but the story just doesn’t move fast enough or work hard enough to build that much needed suspense. Still, this is a fun watch, if for no other reason than LaBeouf being entertaining. |
