The DVD Blend Spends A Night At The Museum
Each week DVDs come out. Some of them are worth your time and money and some aren't. Some of them are movies I've seen, and some of them aren’t. Regardless, I give you my opinion on the big releases of the week. If the releases sound like something you want to buy, just click the link to go to Amazon.com and you’ll support Cinema Blend with a few pennies. Take it or leave it, here's the DVD Blend.
Cinema Blend Pick of the Week:
Night at the Museum
I can’t remember the last time I could recommend a film as being “fun for the whole family.” That changes with Night at the Museum - a film that finally provides entertainment for both kids and adults without resorting to too much bathroom humor. The picture is full of expert comedians who are legendary at their trade, yet somehow Museum makes room for all of them without feeling like it’s cheating the audience. When Museum hit theaters it intrigued me, but I couldn’t figure out why it was a box-office giant. Now that I’ve seen it on DVD I know and am completely ready for the sequel that’s already being discussed. It may not be as artistic as other releases this week, but Night at the Museum is a world of fun!

Row 1 - Cell 0 | The Queen - Now I know what you’re thinking – how did Museum wind up as the pick of the week when an Oscar-caliber film like The Queen gets a second rate mention – it’s simple: I didn’t see The Queen yet. While I have no doubt it’s worth a look, I just can’t bring myself to push the unseen yet. Leave me some credibility. | Row 1 - Cell 2 | Deja Vu - Fans of the Weekly Blend Audio show know I can’t go without some repeat gag about this movie whenever we talk about it. Well, given the limited space within this column, I’ll pass. Tony Scott’s latest endeavor with Denzel Washington may have gotten some good acclaim, but it’s really not worth it for me to create a whole new row just to repeat myself for a bad gag. |
