The DVD Blend Survives The Ice Age
Each week DVDs come out. Some of them are worth your time and money and some aren't. Some of them are movies I've seen, and some of them aren’t. Regardless, I give you my opinion on the big releases of the week. If the releases sound like something you want to buy, just click the link to go to Amazon.com and you’ll support Cinema Blend with a few pennies. Take it or leave it, here's the DVD Blend.
Cinema Blend Pick of the Week:
Ice Age: The Meltdown
I’m one of the few people who liked Ice Age, the story of several misfit primeval creatures banding together to save a primitive human child before the Ice Age hits. This sequel gathers the characters together again as they move away from a pending flood (the Ice Age has now ended and is melting – hence the “Meltdown” title) and try to find a romantic attachment for Manny, a grumpy, depressed Mammoth. They find that match in the form of Elsie, a female Mammoth who thinks she’s a possum. The new characters, voiced by Queen Latifah, Sean William Scott, and Josh Peck are a solid addition to what was already a fun cast and this story is definitely stronger than the first film. Even if you didn’t like Ice Age, Meltdown is worth a peek.

Worth mentioning: | |||
Row 1 - Cell 0 | An Inconvenient Truth - Al Gore makes a good case for the dangers of global warming that has both entertained and informed audiences. Packaged in environmentally safe materials, this disc carries on its message beyond the running time of the movie. | Row 1 - Cell 2 | How the Grinch Stole Christmas (50th Birthday Edition) - The classic Christmas story from Dr. Seuss in it’s best version (not the Jim Carrey debacle). The bonus material offered should make this a great birthday celebration, even for Grinches. |
