The DVD Blend Tries To Seduce The Graduate
Each week DVDs come out. Some of them are worth your time and money and some aren't. Some of them are movies I've seen, and some of them aren’t. Regardless, I give you my opinion on the big releases of the week. If the releases sound like something you want to buy, just click the link to go to Amazon.com and you’ll support Cinema Blend with a few pennies. Take it or leave it, here's the DVD Blend.
Cinema Blend Pick of the Week:
The Graduate
At first glance this looks like a really crummy week for new DVD releases, and to some degree it is. There are no blockbuster movies coming out, just some small virtually direct to video things and a few television sets of shows I don’t care for. Then I noticed this classic gem almost getting completely overlooked. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 40 years since The Graduate entered our world and embedded itself in our culture. Now the line “You’re trying to seduce me” is instantly recognizable and key moments from the movie are ripe for parody – even as recently as last week on Monk. Even harder to believe than the movie being around for 40 years is the notion that some people still haven’t seen it. If you’re one of those, take the opportunity to see a classic picture on this remastered release.
