Dead Space: Aftermath Trailer Isn't As Much Fun As Playing The Game
We like to keep things compartmentalized here at Cinema Blend, but seeing as how the upcoming direct-to-DVD movie tie-in Dead Space: Aftermath straddles the grey territory between DVD and Games, we're throwing it up here for your amusement. Plus, I'm a huge fan of the original Dead Space game, so I've got my fingers crossed that Aftermath might be fun...or at least more entertaining than the last DS movie tie-in, the forgettable Dead Space: Downfall.
Aftermath takes place, appropriately enough, after the events of the first game, which saw taciturn engineer Isaac Clarke investigating the mining ship USG Ishimura after all contact with the ship was lost. On board, Isaac found a nightmare made reality, with most of the crew dead and the ship overrun with strange, murderous creatures called necromorphs. Aftermath follows what happens to yet another crew sent to investigate what happened to both Isaac's crew and the military crew that responded to Isaac's distress signal. Clearly, whoever's in charge of these ships isn't packing a surplus of common sense.
Aftermath also takes a page from the Batman: Gotham Knight playbook, telling its story through four segments headed by four different directors in four different styles. Dead Space: Aftermath makes planetfall January 25th, 2011. You can check out the trailer and box art below, and be sure to stay tuned to our Games section for all your Dead Space news.
