Enter the Lost Room in April
Sci Fi network’s miniseries “The Lost Room” was one of my favorite television events of the last year. Starring Peter Krause (“Six Feet Under,” “Sports Night”) and Julianna Margulies (Snakes on a Plane, “ER”), the miniseries centered around a mysterious room that was only accessible with a special key. As the miniseries unfolded the Room became a central point for a war between different factions trying to get their hands on the key and other special Objects of Power that came from the Room. Krause’s detective character finds himself in the middle of a power struggle, when all he wants back is his daughter who disappeared into the Lost Room.
The story was told over three, two-hour segments on Sci-Fi, but the ending was intentionally left open for a possible sequel or series. While no word has come on that front (although it doesn’t look promising), “The Lost Room” has finally gotten an announced DVD release date: April 3rd.
Take note: the final word on the miniseries’ open ending isn’t in yet, leaving the door of “The Lost Room” still slightly ajar. DVD purchases might help communicate to Sci-Fi and Universal that fans want to see more of the battle of the Objects. If you liked the miniseries or missed your chance to see it during Sci-Fi’s dozen repeats, you might want to pre-order your copy now. Could “The Lost Room” send the same message the Browncoats did with “Firefly?”
