Flags Fly On DVD
Clint Eastwood is getting Oscar attention again, but not for the movie I expected to see get the acclaim. His Letters from Iwo Jima may wind up getting so much attention it overshadows Flags of Our Fathers which is headed for DVD on February 6th.
Flags of Our Fathers is Eastwood’s film adaptation of the novel by James Bradley based on a screenplay by Crash scribe Paul Haggis and William Broyles, Jr. The story tells the tale of the people behind one of the most iconic images in American history: the raising of the flag on Mount Suribachi, and how the surviving soldiers who went on to become national heroes never wanted that fame. The ensemble cast of includes Ryan Phillippe, Paul Walker, Jamie Bell and John Benjamin Hickey.
While Flags may not the getting the Oscar attention, don’t write it off as any less of a film. If you missed it in theaters you’ll get another shot at the DVD on February 6th.
