Free Willy For The Fourth Time With Bindi Irwin
Jason James Richter has grown too old to send Willy leaping over a stone barrier to safety, so he's passed that duty along to Bindi Irwin. Will Irwin find similar success co-starring with everyone’s favorite Orca? Find out when Warner Home Video releases Free Willy: Escape from Pirate’s Cove on DVD and Blu-ray March 23rd.
Irwin plays Kirra, a young girl who leaves her home in Australia to spend the summer with her grandfather (Beau Bridges) in South Africa. She comes across a stranded baby Orca in a nearby lagoon and dubs her new friend Willy. Kirra must lead Willy back to his pod before her grandfather’s rival can turn him into a theme-park attraction.
This is going to make me sound incredibly insensitive, but I cannot stand Bindi Irwin. One hundred and one minutes of her peppy banter? No thanks. For those of you who have a heart, you can pick up Escape from Pirate’s Cove on DVD for $27.95 or in a DVD/BD combo pack for $35.99. The DVD version comes with "Meet My Wild Co-Stars," "Bindi's First Movie Video Diary," "Greetings from South Africa," deleted scenes, and outtakes. Upgrading to the BD edition will add a pop-up fun fact track and a digital copy of the film.
