Get Justified On Blu-Ray And DVD This January
Justified finds Timothy Olyphant, the Man Who Was Seth Bullock, playing yet another stoic, Stetson-wearing law man of few words and a talented trigger finger. The FX series, which premiered last March, is based on the character of Marshal Raylan Givens, created by Elmore Leonard and featured in several of his novels. The show finds Olyphant playing to his strengths as a character who really might as well be Deadwood's Seth Bullock, continuing FX's trademark fascination with complicated, often anti-heroic protagonists. After Givens guns down a criminal in broad daylight and in front of tons of witnesses, the U.S. marshal finds himself reassigned to a lower-profile gig back in his old stomping grounds of rural Harlan County, Kentucky. While nowhere near as good as the show Olyphant's casting can't help but bring to mind, Justified nevertheless features plenty of gripping episodes and a memorable supporting turn by former Shield regular Walton Goggins as an old friend of Raylan's who has since turned to crime and white-supremacy.
The three-disc set arrives January 18th for a list price of $49.95 on Blu-ray or $39.95 for DVD. The set will include all 13 episodes of the first season alongside several bonus features. Here's what your cash on the barrelhead will net you:
