Go Back To School With American Teen On DVD
Who were you back in high school? Were you the geek, the jock, the teacher’s pet or the popular kid? If you’ve forgotten, come December 21st, you’ll be able to pick up the documentary American Teen on DVD to jive your memory.
Five real-life suburban high school students open the doors of Warsaw Community High School to audiences nationwide. These Indiana teens, Megan Krizmanich, Colin Clemens, Hannah Bailey, Mitch Reinholt and Jake Tusing, give you a firsthand look at what it’s like to live life as a high school stereotype. The princess, jock, rebel, heartthrob and geek may belong to completely different social groups, but all go through a number of emotional highs and lows. Whether you’re years out of school or still trudging through, you’re probably able to relate to at least one, if not all of these absorbing personalities.
If the documentary itself is not enough for you, you’ll have four DVD extras to continue your high school journey with. You’ll get “Pop Quiz: Cast Interviews,” “Deleted Scenes,” “Hannah Blogs” and “Character Trailers.”
Getting an inside look at another person’s life is always an extremely intriguing concept, but it must be a well-crafted story in order to succeed. Thanks to director Nanette Burstein, American Teen was a huge success at the Sundance Film Festival leading tons of moviegoers to opt for this ticket stub. Unfortunately, its limited release made it difficult for many of us to make it to theater. For those of us who missed out, spending the $29.99 is likely to be worth it.
