The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard? More Like Live Hard, Rent Hard
The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard didn’t make most moviegoers laugh as hard as they’d expected to, but it did pull in a modestly respectable $15 million at the box office. Some speculate Ari Gold fans are waiting for the film to hit DVD. Well, the time has come, and Don Ready’s selling power is about to be put to the test.
Don Ready (Jeremy Piven) is a professional used-car liquidator and ladies man. When he’s summoned to help save a car dealership from going under, he assembles his crack team and heads to the small town to take care of business.
Don’t expect to run out and get your copy right away. For some reason, Paramount Home Entertainment will only release The Goods for rental on November 10th through Netflix and Blockbuster. Do they have some sort of arrangement with Netflix and Blockbuster? Maybe. Are they feeling out the buying potential before producing copies for purchase? Possibly. The press release doesn’t even mention the inclusion of any bonus material, so I’m guessing the latter.
If you just can't resist a Will Ferrell and Adam McKay production, you can rent the movie on November 10th, or wait until it’s available to own four to eight weeks after the rental release.
