Gripping Trailer For The Experiment Imprisons Adrien Brody Direct To DVD
Say what you want about Adrien Brody, but the guy never makes boring choices. Sometimes his movies work and sometimes they don’t, but he’s always worth watching. This weekend some of you saw him play a surprisingly convincing badass in Predators, next up you’ll see him in The Experiment… or maybe you won’t since it isn’t being released in theaters.
The movie’s first trailer has arrived and while it looks absolutely brilliant, it’s unfortunately going straight to DVD and Blu-Ray. Watch Brody and Forest Whitaker warped and twisted by the experiment in the absolutely gripping trailer below.
The Experiment is a remake of the German film Das Experiment, based on a novel called Black Box which seems to be inspired by a real-life Stanford prison experiment conducted in 1971. In 1971 experiment a team of researchers, in an attempt to study the psychological effects of becoming a prison guard, selected 24 undergraduates to play the roles of prisoners and guards in a mock prison set up in the Stanford basement. Roles were assigned randomly, and the results were shocking. Even though it was all just a mockup, and even though everyone involved in it, the guards assumed authoritarian roles and things got so out of hand that the experiment was stopped after only 6 days.
