Have You Heard Of The Contract?
There’s something about an unknown movie starring big names that makes me nervous. Is it just a hidden secret or is it something that was buried by bigger reputations and hidden away? The latest movie that makes me ask this question is The Contract which stars two of my favorites: John Cusack and Morgan Freeman, and is directed by Bruce Beresford (who directed Freeman in Driving Miss Daisy, yet I’ve never heard of it. The movie is now headed for DVD and HD DVD on July 24th.
The story has something to do with Freeman as Frank Cardin, an assassin who gets caught by U.S. Marshalls, attempts to escape, and is caught again by Ray Keene (Cusack), a lawman on a hiking trip with his son. Now Keene must try to get both his son and the assassin back to civilization while avoiding Cardin’s friends who are trying to free him to collect on a contract (hence the title).
The release isn’t carrying much in the way of extra material; just a making-of featurette and a photo gallery. So why haven’t we heard of The Contract? Check it out on July 24th to figure it out.
