Higglety Pigglety Pop! Brings Jennie The Terrier To Life
Where the Wild Things Are isn’t the only Maurice Sendak book getting the film treatment. Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski turned Higglety Pigglety Pop! or There Must Be More to Life into a short featuring the voices of Meryl Streep and Forest Whitaker.
Jennie the terrier has everything she could want or need...or so it appears. There’s actually something missing in her life, and she’s determined to find it. With all her belongings in a gold-buckled black leather bag she hits the road in hopes of nabbing a leading role at the World Mother Goose Theatre.
The National Film Board of Canada plans to release Higglety Pigglety Pop! on DVD sometime in the summer of 2010. For those of you in the U.S., Warner Home Video will include the 23-minute film on the Where the Wild Things Are BD, which arrives in stores on March 2nd.
