Jeremy Sisto and Kristen Chenoweth Deliver Us Into Temptation On DVD
Maybe it's just because I watched Six Feet Under, but "priest" isn't the first role I think of when I think of Jeremy Sisto. While we're on the subject, maybe it's because I watched Pushing Daisies, but "hooker" isn't the first role I think of when I think of Kristen Chenoweth. Nevertheless, both actors are challenging my type-casting of them by playing just those two things in First Look Studios' Into Temptation, arriving on DVD October 27th.
Sisto plays Father John Buerlein, who sets out on a quest to save Chenoweth -- playing the tiniest call girl in all the land -- after she confesses that she plans to kill herself on her birthday. That quest will take him into what the press release describes as a "dark labyrinth of sex shops, peep shows and brothels." Which probably still won't be half as disturbing as David Bowie's tight-pants crotch-bulge in the actual Labyrinth. The film is from writer-director Patrick Coyle, who made a low-budget film called Detective Fiction in 2003 and, more importantly, played "Man in Parking Lot" in Joe Somebody.
Listing at $24.98, the disc doesn't sport any special features. But on the upside, since this is an edgier than usual role for Chenoweth, Pushing Daisies slash-fic writers could soon have some nudity to inspire their latest erotic epic. And consider this: Chenoweth is 4'11, Sisto is 6'1 -- that's a love scene I'd pay to see.
