Land's DVD Release Blinds Us
Every once in a while a movie blindsides me. For whatever reason some film that I haven’t heard of, with a stellar cast, suddenly appears and I wonder why I had never heard of it before. Such is the case with Land of the Blind, which hit DVD on August 15th. On the 16th we received the press release for the release. How very odd to get word about a release the day after it came out.
Even stranger is the cast of the movie, which compels me to seek it out. Donald Sutherland, Ralph Fiennes, and Lara Flynn Boyle headline the movie, which depicts a revolution against a tyrannical government and what happens once that revolution succeeds. In every way this movie compels me: intriguing plot, talented cast; and yet I wonder how this movie has escaped me for this long.
