Little Fockers Blu-Ray Release To Come With Bonus Movie
Little Fockers' Blu-Ray and DVD release dates were recently announced for April 5th, and two thoughts simultaneously popped into my head. The first is that Universal Studios Home Entertainment has yet to spread word of a combo pack for the multiple Focker family films (Does this mean another sequel? Oh, how I hope not). The second thought was more of a feeling, a sheer awe factor if you will, at the extensive amount of features that will come with the Blu-Ray set, one of them being a "Bonus Movie."
Intrigued? Well, first we’ll have to get through all the extras. If you’re going for the DVD copy of Little Fockers, you’ll still have several fun features to get through, including both an alternate opening and ending, a gag reel, a behind-the-scenes featurette that is literally called “The Making of a Godfocker,” a “'Bout Time” segment, and another featurette called "The Focker Foot Locker,” which seems to be product placement, or maybe a reel spotlighting each time someone utters the term "Focker." The Blu-Ray copy, which will come in the oft-standard Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy package, will have all of the aforementioned features, as well as some new ones. Cast interviews with Ben and Owen and Bob and Ben again are the prominent extras, as well as My Scenes, a Pocket Blu app, and the elusive "Bonus Movie."
The good news about this "Bonus Movie" is, it’s free and there are multiple Universal Studios films you will be able to choose from. The film you pick will use the Internet, your Blu-Ray player, and your television (or iPad, etc.) to stream through the Pocket Blu app or BD Live. The bad news is this process is through Pocket Blu or BD Live, and if you haven’t used the technology before, it might be a hassle to figure out. This “Bonus Movie” is great advertising for both Universal and the new streaming technologies, however. I hate it when advertising doesn’t try to be sneaky. Mass marketing aside, the Little Fockers Blu-Ray combo pack still equates to a good deal for the populace, and that’s almost as sweet as the 60 degree weather some of us are basking in today.
