Max Headroom: The Complete Series Gets A Release Date, Cover Art
We reported back in February that ‘80s cult cyberpunk series Max Headroom was headed to DVD sometime this summer, courtesy of Shout! Factory. Now Amazon has put up a pre-order listing for the Complete Series and a street-date of August 10th. Neither the Amazon page nor Shout! Factory’s website list any details as to possible special features yet, but Amazon gives us a $49.97 price point and a runtime of 660 minutes.
The bizarre science-fiction series ran for two seasons and starred Matt Frewer as Edison Carter, a reporter for Network 23 in a dystopian not-too-distant future. After being killed in a motorcycle accident, a copy of Carter’s mind is uploaded into a computer and becomes the titular character, ironically named after a sign Carter saw moments before he died. The show sported a dark sense of humor and covered subjects ranging from subliminal ads that make people explode to the network sifting through peoples’ dreams for new material. It was surprisingly ahead of its time, and I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you've never seen it.
