Meet The Chipettes When Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel Comes Home March 30th

Can you tolerate 90 minutes of high-pitched singing rodents? If you’ve got the patience or a group of kids demanding a dose of musical silliness, you can pick up Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel on DVD or Blu-ray on March 30th, courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

When a concert calamity lands Dave in the hospital, the Chipmunks step out of the spotlight to attend school. Not only do they struggle to fit in with their new classmates, but they’ve got some competition: The Chipettes. The singing trios immediately take a liking to each other but are soon put at odds when it’s revealed that The Chipettes are working with the boys’ evil ex-manager, Ian.

The film didn’t get the best critical reception, but it did perform well at the box office, taking in a whopping $212 million stateside. Odds are, it’ll find similar success on the DVD market. The bare minimum is a single-disc DVD for $29.98. Bumping up the price tag to $34.98 will get you the “Squeak-Along” double-DVD pack. The priciest of the bunch is the $39.99 Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. If you’re a curious adult the obvious choice is the single-disc version, but when it comes to the kiddies, the more the better, so it’s going to have to be the combo pack. It comes with just about everything but earplugs.
