Missed The Ex In Theaters? Catch The DVD Later This Month
I really wanted The Ex to do well, and for a while it looked like it was going to. The studio pushed back the release date to a more acceptable time of year (reportedly so the cast could run the press gambit on the film) and changed the title to shake off any bad stigma against the first announced release. Then the picture bombed anyway. What a shame.
The Ex stars Zach Braff and Jason Bateman as two adversaries in love with Amanda Peet. All three are arguably under appreciated comedic geniuses… well, all except Braff. His new “Scrubs” salary proves he’s appreciated, he just isn’t as well recognized as he deserves to be.
Now’s your second chance to see The Ex as Genius Products and The Weinstein Company bring the movie to DVD on August 21st. The DVD will be out in both rated and unrated releases, which means the theatrical cut and something with a little more material in it. There will also be deleted scenes, a blooper reel, and both alternate endings and an alternate opening.
Here’s a look at the poster artwork that’s being used for the cover of the DVD:
