In The Name Of The King Is Even Longer On Blu-Ray

As Three Dog Night sang, one is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do. Our Head Honcho, Josh Tyler, knows that feeling as he stood out among critics in saying that Uwe Boll’s movie, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, wasn’t total crap. I corrected him upon the DVD release, but now we both have a chance to re-evaluate. In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale is being released on Blu-ray for the first time December 16th.

Not only is the movie coming out on Blu-ray, it’s a special Unrated Director’s Cut with 35 minutes of additional footage. That’s right, you’ll get even more of the bad battle scenes, terrible acting, lame plot, and D- level Lord of the Rings rehashes. Thankfully, Boll is also adding an exclusive Blu-ray commentary track to explain why the whole thing isn’t horrible.

If you haven’t heard of the movie, here’s a synopsis from the press release. “The life of a simple family man named Farmer (Jason Statham) is changed forever when a horrifying army of animal-like warriors known as Krugs who are controlled by the evil sorcerer Gallian (Ray Liotta) invade his village, murder his son and kidnap his wife (Claire Forlani). Farmer sets out on a momentous journey to rescue his wife and along the way, encounters magic and adventure as the quest soon reveals his real destiny in the kingdom.”

Look below for a full list of the Blu-ray extras and a copy of the cover. If you look closely, you can see that some idiot called this movie a “Grand, Epic Adventure.” Who in the hell would say something like that?
