Netflix Streaming Rumored For iPhone, iPod Touch, And Wii

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat in a darkened theater, staring up at some masterpiece of cinema unspooling on a forty-foot screen and thought: “If only I could watch this on a screen the size of my palm…”
Thankfully, the universe heard my call. Multichannel.com is reporting a rumor that Netflix will bring its “Watch Instantly” streaming feature to Apple iPhones, iPod Touch devices, and Nintendo’s Wii game console. Well, it wasn’t really my call, per se, since I don’t own any of those devices. What I do own is an Xbox 360 and a Netflix account, which means I’ve already lost vast tracts of my free time to the instant-streaming library since it became available over the 360 last fall. Should this rumor prove to be true, I extend my open arms in welcome to my Apple and Nintendo brethren. Come, let us sit and watch every season of The Rockford Files together.
