Night At The Museum 2 Brings Everything To Life On DVD
Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Hank Azaria, Robin Williams, Steve Coogan, Bill Hader, Jonah Hill, Rick Gervais, and Jay Baruchel; talk about a huge ensemble cast. Over $177 million at the domestic box office and over $400 million worldwide; talk about a huge gross. What do you get when a highly anticipated movie does well at the box office? Home viewing options packed with bonus material, of course! Get all the Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian you can handle when Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment releases it on DVD and BD on December 1st.
The Museum of Natural History is under construction, so the exhibits are packed up and put into storage at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. Meanwhile, Larry Daley (Stiller) has given up his security-guard career to run Daley Devices, a company specializing in unusual inventions. When Larry gets a frantic call from Jedediah (Wilson) explaining that the Tablet of Ahkmenrah – the artifact that brings the exhibits to life – has been stolen and Pharaoh Kahmunrah (Azaria) is up to no good, Larry and his son (Jake Cherry) head to Washington. With help from his old friends and some new ones, Larry must take down Kahmunrah and save the day.
$29.98 may seem hefty for a single-disc DVD, but it comes with much more than just the movie – there’s over an hour of bonus material. You get commentary by the cast and crew, featurettes, six deleted scenes, an alternate ending, and a gag reel. The next level up is the limited edition “Monkey Mischief” double DVD for $34.98. That second DVD adds 30 more minutes of extras, including three additional featurettes and two games. Then there’s the Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack. For $39.99 you get everything from the double-disc version and a number of other elements such as a digital copy of the film, “Fox Movie Channel Presents” featurettes, “Director 201 with Shawn Levy,” and more.
Lastly, all DVDs and BDs will have a sticker on the packaging that will give the buyer a chance to win a trip to the Smithsonian, courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Delta Vacations, and the Smithsonian Museum. A grand prizewinner will get travel and accommodations to Washington D.C., where they’ll get a behind-the-scenes private tour of the museum.
