Prepare For School With MGM's College Essential Sets

Readers of the site should be familiar with my Friday Night Double Feature column, which pairs films through some (frequently slim) connection. Now it looks like MGM is doing a similar thing with their “College Essential” Gift Sets. Each set is centered around some basic college class, “Anatomy 101” or “Computer Science 101” and then includes three MGM classics that play to that theme.

This is actually a really cool idea, and a few of the sets are actually worth picking up if you don’t already have some of these movies in your collection, assuming these are priced well. The press release suggested retail price is $26.98, but those are typically over what stores actually charge.
