The Prisoner DVD Will Not Be Filed, Stamped, Indexed, Briefed, Debriefed, Or Numbered
AMC has been establishing themselves as a reliable destination for quality drama over the past few years. First they gave us the bona fide pop culture phenomenon of Mad Men. Then they expanded their line-up with the pitch-dark drug drama Breaking Bad, one of the ballsiest shows on television right now. They're clearly a network that isn't afraid of taking risks, so why not remake one of the most beloved cult shows of all time?
Ambition doesn't always equal a good result, however, and the word on AMC's miniseries version of the paranoid classic was decidedly mixed. Will it play better when watched in close succession? Can Jim Caviezel fill the shoes of Patrick McGoohan? Is Ian McKellan ever anything less than awesome? You can find out now, because the show hit DVD this week.
In addition to the full miniseries, the set comes with several special features to take you deeper into The Village. Check out the specs and a mess of clips below.
