Will Punisher Be Redeemed By An Extended Cut?
Punisher is one of those movies that people love to make excuses for. Let's face it though folks… it was bad. Really really bad. There's no excusing it. But for those of you still in denial, Lionsgate is offering you an opportunity to watch it again and look for a reason to like it.
Lionsgate believes that the way to fix it, is to give you more of it. They're releasing The Punisher Extended Cut on DVD November 21, 2006. The new cut includes 17 minutes of all new footage integrated into the film. The claim is that they shed new light on the movie's story. I can't imagine there's any way to make it better, this isn't Superman 2.
But if you have some strange hope for improvement, then you'll want to pick it up. If the movie's still bad, maybe we can all go back to watching the Dolph Lundgren version and leave Thomas Jane to smoking pot.
