Rock Into The Air Guitar Nation In August
We’ve had rockumentaries about bands falling apart and pulling together, such as Metallica’s Some Kind of Monster. We’ve had mockumentaries about fictitious rock bands like This Is Spinal Tap. But now we have a whole new kind of monster entering the fray: Air Guitar Nation.
That’s right, Air Guitar Nation follows the birth of the U.S. Air Guitar Championship and two contenders for the championship: C. Diddy (David Jung) and Björn Türoque (Dan Crane). The documentary finds the two in heated competition not only for the U.S. Championship, but then the World Championship, leading to a final competition in Finland (well known mecca of air guitar). The movie has been honored with quite a few awards, from Austin’s SXSW’s “Best Documentary” award to being an “Official Selection” of Tribeca. Now it’s heading to DVD where everyone can enjoy it.
Air Guitar Nation will air-rock its way into stores on August 28th with a variety of bonus materials, including deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes footage, additional performances, and “where are they now” updates.
