See Screenshots From Space Ace On High Definition Fomats
Fans of ‘80s video games were gifted with a fantastic present last year – a high definition port of Dragon’s Lair for HD DVD, playable with the player’s remote. Now Digital Leisure continues that trend with a new version of one of the follow ups to Dragon’s Lair, Space Ace, which will be released on both HD DVD and Blu-ray on April 8th.
Space Ace follows the adventures of Ace, a heroic figure armed only with a laser gun. Ace is tasked with saving his girlfriend Kimberly, stopping the vile Commander Borf, and saving the planet Earth.
Both high definition versions will carry a lot of the same features that made the Dragon’s Lair release so neat. There are interviews with the series creators, as well as a picture-in-picture commentary with Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, and Rick Dyer. You can also select “watch mode” which will just display the animation sequences without actually playing the game.
The HD DVD version of the game contains an extra feature, however. Making use of the format player’s network port, there will be an option for “Leisure Online,” an online playing experience that includes playing Space Ace in head to head gaming.
