Silence Is Deadly And Unrated On DVD
Many people take the fact that I compliment the sound design of Dead Silence as a bash against the movie – after all, how many movies out there have people focus on sound? Saying a movie has a good sound design is usually like saying a girl has a nice personality – it’s trying to find something to compliment. In this case, the compliment is warranted and the attached movie isn’t that bad.
Don’t just take my word for it however: Dead Silence comes home on June 26th, giving you the chance to check it out yourself. I honestly believe this is one of those movies you won’t get the full effect from unless you have a good home entertainment setup though. Sure, the blood can splatter on your 13” television just as well as on the big plasma setups, but the Gothic imagery and awesome sound will pale in comparison to the original presentation. If only the plot had lived up to the visual and sound presentation of the movie.
No word on bonus material at this time other than Amazon.com listing both a theatrical and unrated release for the movie right now. That’s a little odd considering the release is only a couple of weeks away, but we’ll let you know more if we find it out. Dead Silence is scheduled for release on DVD and HD DVD on June 26th.
