Sink Your Teeth Into Moonlight: The Complete Series
Guard your blood because Moonlight: The Complete Series is coming to DVD January 20th. Soon you’ll be able to enjoy the one and only season of this People’s Choice Favorite New TV Drama in the comfort of your own home; or just somewhere in the daylight, if you’d prefer.
A private eye’s job is to uncover the secrets people are so desperate to hide, but Mick St. John (Alex O’Loughlin) has a dark secret of his own. Fifty-five years ago, Mick was turned into a vampire by his wife on their wedding night. Shifting to the present day, Mick struggles with a new love for a mortal woman, Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), which Mick knows is an eternally risky relationship. To make life even more complicated, he must handle a friendship with an undead fiancé, Josef Kostan (Jason Dohring), deal with other vampires and endure memories of his ex-wife. We all know Los Angeles is a crazy enough town as it is. With a vampire problem, life must be really out of control.
You might be asking yourself why this series was so sort lived, especially when it won a People’s Choice Award. Well, not even vampires could survive the writers’ strike. The series had produced 12 of the season’s 13 episodes when production stopped. Even though CBS announced the show would return with four new episodes back in April, on May 13th, the show’s cancelation was announced.
Vampires are immortal, but is there life after television for Moonlight? Thanks to the DVD, of course! The four-disc set features all 16 episodes for a price of $39.98. With the newfound popularity of reliving your favorite television series on DVD, this show could have potential in stores. People’s fascination with vampires couldn’t hurt either. Buffy the Vampire Slayer made a significant impact on the television world and with the highly anticipated film Twilight hitting theaters soon, people may be a little more eager than usual to sink their teeth into a good paranormal story.
