Stuck On A Ski Lift? Pass The Time With These Clips From Frozen
Writer/director Adam Green's thriller Frozen falls into the same tradition as Open Water: drawing terror and tension from an oddly specific series of events that, while unlikely, are just possible enough to make you squirm at the possibilities. With Open Water, it was the queasy prospect of being left behind in shark-infested waters after a day of SCUBA diving. Frozen puts a similarly unnerving spin on a popular vacation activity by having three luckless teens (Shawn Ashmore, Kevin Zegers, Emma Bell) wind up stranded atop a ski lift just as the resort is closing for the week. If you're wondering just what sort of challenges being trapped atop a ski lift could entail, we invite you to watch the DVD trailer below.
Anchor Bay Entertainment is releasing Frozen on Blu-ray and DVD September 28th, which seems odd to me since it's still in the mid-'80s in my neck of the woods. Nonetheless, horror fans should be keen to check out the film, which got a lot of buzz before its limited theatrical release last February. Both the Blu-ray and DVD versions will sport a nice selection of bonus features, but the BD will include an extra commentary as noted below. You can also scroll on down below the trailer and take a look at a clip from the "Shooting Through It" featurette, highlighting the challenges of shooting a movie on top of a mountain during a freakin' blizzard.
