It just doesn't pay to get on an airplane if you're in a science fiction story. If you're not having premonitions of your own death, you're getting yanked into the future by time travelers, tormented by bug-eyed gremlins on the wing, or any of countless other problems. Thanks to this trailer for Anchor Bay Entertainment's new SF thriller Altitude, we can add "giant air squids" to our list of reasons to stay on the ground.
Since Altitude has probably been flying below your radar (heh), here's the skinny: a bunch of youngsters on a weekend getaway decide to take a flight on a small plane, only to find the controls jammed after a malfunction and sending them ever higher. Even worse, they're headed straight into the heart of a mysterious storm, and even worse than that there seems to be something large and unfriendly inside the storm. I don't want to give too much away, but the word of the day is "tentacles," people!
