Things Will Get Scandalous When High Crimes Debuts On Blu-Ray
Imagine your house is burglarized. The police come to investigate, but rather than track down those responsible, they take your spouse into custody. Now you’re left in a home in shambles without your loved one. It’s a good thing I didn’t star in High Crimes because at this point I’d be standing amidst the wreckage without a clue of what to do. Lucky for you, it’s Ashley Judd in the leading role and she’s prepared to take matters into her own hands in order to set things right.
After their Marin County home is ransacked, Claire watches her husband, Ron (James Caviezel), being taken away by FBI agents, charged with the murder of Salvadoran civilians. Claire is baffled by the situation, but her husband explains the accusations are true. Under the identity of Randal Chapman he was part of a military operation during which people were killed, but he assures her he was only made a scapegoat by the individual actually responsible for the murders. Claire teams up with a former military attorney (Morgan Freeman) to try and prove her husband’s innocence, but as the trial progresses matters get increasingly complicated and even deadly.
How can you go wrong with a movie that stars Judd and Freeman? If High Crimes is anything like the thriller Kiss the Girls, it must be worth the $29.99. The BD comes with commentary by director Carl Franklin, “A Military Mystery,” “FBI Takedown in Union Square,” “A Different Kind of Justice,” “Liar Liar: How to Beat a Polygraph with Sue Ducett,” “The Car Crash,” “Together Again” and the theatrical trailer. Claire may not know who to trust in this film, but will you trust Franklin to take you on an intense dramatic ride when High Crimes hits Blu-ray on September 1st?
