Welcome The Joneses To The Neighborhood On August 10th
It’s certainly amoral, but there’s no denying that the Joneses are ahead of the game when it comes to advertising. Commercials and posters are a thing of the past; get a taste of stealth marketing when The Joneses hits DVD and Blu-ray on August 10th.
Kate, Steve, Jenn, and Mick (Demi Moore, David Duchovny, Amber Heard, and Ben Hollingsworth) are a seemingly normal family. Steve drives the hottest new car on the market, Jenn and Mick are decked out in the latest trends, and Kate’s busy throwing lavish parties catered by the best of the best -- but, no; it’s actually Chef Robert’s frozen food line. Everyone on their block admires their perfect existence, and they'd better -- the Joneses are actually actors employed by a marketing company to make their neighbors want what they have.
Unfortunately, the bonus features aren't going to make anyone envious. Spending $22.98 for the DVD or $24.99 for the BD will get you a pair of deleted scenes and nothing else, but fortunately the film itself is great. The whole concept is fun, innovative, and relatable, and it even takes a turn for the dramatic when you realize the Joneses are more than just mannequins in a storefront; they’re real people with emotions and consciences to manage.
