Marvel Vs. Capcom: Civil War Is The Mash-Up We Didn't Know We Needed
You know what would have made Captain America: Civil War even better? Some creative editing and sound effects from Marvel fighting games, of course.
Chalk this up as one of those peanut butter and jelly situations that includes a couple of things that you didn't realize you wanted to put together until someone was crazy enough to try it first.
If you've ever played any of the Marvel vs. Capcom games, or just about any Capcom fighting game like Street Fighter, you know that the battles are usually full of great sound effects and cheesy one-liners.
While watching Iron-Man, Captain America, and their jolly companions duke it out in Civil War, apparently Youtube user Frob Man's mind drifted back to those fighting games, where he started to wonder what it would be like if the world of film and video game were to collide.
Rather than simply sit and ponder, he decided to act, putting together this, rather perfect, compilation of fights from Civil War and sound effects from Super Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.
We assume this actually took quite a bit of work, as Frob Man perfectly matched the strikes, catchphrases and sound effects from SmvC3 with what was going down in the movie. I also kind of dig the idea of a movie world where, like in the games, the characters shout out the name of their moves as they perform them. That seems like something the new Spider-Man would do for fun anyway, but it's delightfully out of place for the rest of the cast.
Now we're curious to see what it would look like if Frob Man took the plunge and re-did the entire movie in this fashion. Some folks argue that Civil War was a bit depressing, as watching Cap and Stark go toe to toe was too much like mommy and daddy arguing at the dinner table. Sound effects from Marvel vs. Capcom would certainly help slice through some of that tension, don't you think?

The only commentary the creator offers is to question if they were the only person out there to think of this funny combo while watching the fight scenes in the movie. It never actually crossed our minds, but now it seems so totally obvious. Either way, we're glad Frob Man was there to connect the dots and provide us with a couple minutes of smiles.
In a clip full of great moments, our favorite has to be when Ant-Man grabs a hold of War Machine and, with the perfect expression in his eyes, shouts "I'm Awesome." So well matched to the moment and the character. Feel free to share your favorite highlights from this epic clash in the comments section below.
