Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare Has An Awesome Event This Weekend
Activision and Infinity Ward unleashed a new event this weekend to help lure people back to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare after it launched last weekend on November 4th. The event will run up until Monday, so if you want to get in on the goods you'll have to hurry.
Gamespot is reporting that the weekend event is for double XP in the Infinite Warfare zombies mode called Zombies In Spaceland. The experience points boost will enable you to join up to three friends in the hilariously gory mode to rack up points, level up your profile, and earn some new opportunities to kick butt and take names as you grow stronger in rank and experience.
The double XP event started on Friday and it will run up until November 14th, this upcoming Monday, finishing off at 10am PST. So you have up until Monday morning to squeeze in as many double XP bonuses as possible.
It's interesting because previously the zombies were limited to the Treyarch games while Infinity Ward had the Spec Ops mode. The zombies really picked up with Call of Duty: World at War and from there it took on a life all its own when they were reintroduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Given the popularity of the zombies, Infinity Ward began including them in their games, and then we saw things like the _Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare _ Exo Zombies, which featured zombies in exo-suits going against players while utilizing special powers.
Advanced Warfare's zombies mode even featured well known actors such as Bruce Campbell, John Malkovich and Rose McGowan, along with The Punisher himself, Jon Bernthal. Black Ops 3 continued the trend of including zombies in the game, but it continued the long-running story involving the original group of zombie fighters, wrapping up their story.
For Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare the zombies mode takes on a completely different story, this time involving a director who has lost all his prestige after being known for making cult horror films. He decides to dabble in black magic to regain his luster, trapping four teenagers in his sadistic plan to make it back to the top of the movie business. The first part of the story involves the four teens being transported back to a 1980's themed amusement park, inhabited by retro-futuristic robots that will allow you to gain some aid from David Hasselhoff and face off against alien UFO invaders with dangerous ray guns.
Like the other zombie modes, there are special challenges to uncover, different areas with specific secrets to unlock, and of course there's the Call of Duty Pack-a-Punch machine and the hoop-jumping process to go through in order to access it.
