Dead By Daylight Has Added A Slasher Film Icon
A new character is joining Starbreeze Studios and Behaviour Digital's horror-themed multiplayer survival game, Dead By Daylight. The new update is available right now for those who want to get in on the action, which is accompanied by a free weekend so you can see what the fuss is all about. Take a look below.
That's right, Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre has joined the fray and is available to purchase for $3.99 over on the Steam store.
If you own a copy of Dead By Daylight on Xbox One or PS4, don't fret. You'll be able to get your hands on Leatherface soon enough. The PC version received the update first but the console versions will also receive the horror icon after a short while.
Leatherface comes with his own abilities, such as Knock Out, which causes blunt force trauma to his victims that makes it difficult for them to cry out for help. Additionally, if a victim is knocked out they won't have their aura revealed to other survivors who are out of range, making it a very devastating and scary skill to be on the receiving end of.
Barbecue & Chili is a skill that allows Leatherface to quickly see the aura of other survivors after hanging up a victim on a meat hook. His final skill is Franklin's Demise, which causes survivors to drop an item if they're hit by the attack... it also manages to damage the item when it falls.
Some users have complained that Leatherface is just like Billy, one of the other resident maniacs from Dead By Daylight. Others are just excited to see Leatherface make an appearance in the game, especially after The Texas Chainsaw Massacre received a bit of fizz and sizzle in the entertainment medium after Leatherface was featured in Mortal Kombat X.
The longtime horror icon joins a roster of various deadly specters, killers and monsters, and also stands alongside another notable horror icon in the game, none other than Michael Meyers from Halloween.

Speaking of Michael Meyers... all of the DLC for Dead By Daylight has also been discounted in light of the most recent update. You can get Michael and all the other expansion packs for the game for 50% off the normal price. The base game is also marked down from $19.99 down to $9.99 as part of the free weekend promotion.
Dead By Daylight has been a breakout hit since debuting last year in the summer. Gun Media also tried its hand at the asymmetric multiplayer horror genre with Friday The 13th: The Game, and it's no surprise why, given that Dead By Daylight has already sold more than 2 million copies.
You can pick up the Leatherface DLC right now for PC and soon for PS4 and Xbox One.
