Rockstar Confirms Red Dead Redemption 2 Item In GTA Online
Rumors have long persisted that Rockstar would be adding a special item from Red Dead Redemption 2 to GTA Online. Well, after plenty of speculation, lots of articles, and tons of gamers begging Rockstar for info, the company finally confirmed that an item from the upcoming wild west shooter is now available in GTA Online.
Over on the official Rockstar Games website, the company unveiled the Double-Action Revolver. This beastly weapon is a golden six-shooter with special les fleurs engravings set atop a golden livery, with an ivory-etched handle, and a DDP insignia on the upper end of the pistol grip.
It's a beautiful looking item that will likely find itself being highly popular among the denizens of GTA Online.
However, not everyone will be able to get their hands on this new revolver from Red Dead Redemption 2. According to the post, you'll have to keep an eye on the iFruit app for an in-game e-mail that leads you towards a clue that must be explored, which will then unlock a trail for you to follow that will eventually result in a quest to unlock the Double-Action Revolver in the game. If you missed out on the e-mail or don't know how to access the iFruit app, you just have to pop open your in-game cell phone and check the app status for an e-mail.
Now, the good part is that you don't have to pay a time to unlock the Double-Action Revolver. If you complete the series of events to acquire the golden pistol, you'll then be able to participate in an all new Headshot Challenge event that has been added to GTA Online's Freemode.
The Headshot Challenge isn't just there to help you hone your six-shooter skills and give you an opportunity to test out your new Double-Actin Revolver. It plays a much bigger role in the grand scheme of things than that.
According to Rockstar Games, the Headshot Challenge -- if you're able to successfully complete the event while you roam around Los Santos and do stuff -- will actually unlock a special bonus award of $250,000 worth of in-game money. That's right, you'll receive a quarter of a million dollars just for completing the challenge. It's a huge incentive to get your hands on the new GTA Online weapon.

What's more is that you will also automatically unlock the Double-Action Revolver exactly as it appears in GTA Online for use in the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One editions of Red Dead Redemption 2.
How cool is that?
This likely confirms that the upcoming western frontier open-world shooter will sport an online mode similar to the one featured in GTA V and that your Rockstar account data will likely carryover for use in Red Dead Redemption 2. You have to admit that's pretty cool, right?
You'll still have to wait a long time for the game to get here, though. You can spend plenty of time in Grand Theft Auto learning how to get good with the Double-Action Revolver so when Red Dead 2 launches you'll be a real crackshot with the pistol.
